Problems:
Are you having a difficult time opening PF files? It’s
possible that you don’t have the appropriate program for
opening PF files installed on your PC, you don’t have the
correct password, or that you have a registry-related error.
PF files require the Stuffit software and a password in
order to open properly. To rule out a registry error, run
our free registry scan.
Manual
Removal Instructions: To manually remove a file extension PF
file, right-click the Start button and click on Explore to
open up Windows Explorer. On the left, double-click the
drive you’d like to search for PF file extensions. Next, go
up to the Search bar and type in: *.PF
Windows
will search the drive you double-clicked for any file ending
with the extension of .PF and then display a list of all PF
files found on that drive. Navigate to the specific PF you’d
like to delete. Right-click on the PF file and click on
Delete. When asked if you are sure you want to send the PF
file to the Recycle Bin, click on Yes.
Solution/Recommendations: If you are having trouble with the
PF files or applications, make sure you are running the
latest version of the software. Updates and patches are
often released that address known issues with the
application.
If you
have forgotten a password for your PF file, you are out of
luck. There is no known way around it. When you create a PF
file, make sure you will be able to remember the password.
In
addition, PF file corruption and missing PF file
associations can often be linked to registry-related errors.
Because of this, we highly recommend a registry scan to rule
out potential PF file extension problems with the registry
itself.
If you
have Stuffit Deluxe installed on your PC but are having
trouble opening PF files unrelated to the password, it’s
possible the file association is incorrect. Go into Windows
Explorer and right-click on the PF file you’d like to open.
Click on Open With and then select Choose Default Program.
Windows will show you its list of recommended programs. If
Stuffit Deluxe is listed, click on the related icon. To
always open PF files with this program, be sure to mark the
box that says, “Always use the selected program to open this
kind of file.”
